I am not sure that poor diction is limited to teenage boys or that it is a current phenomenon.  I remember at some point in my youth my father frequently saying "enunciate."  Since my sisters and I were not young men nor very recently teenagers, I think this is just something that is not that unusual for the age group.  I know I have thought the same thing when talking with teens for a number of years.  (Yes, this is anecdotal with no research behind it.)
