[Publib] Book by Mail Programs

We are seeking possible ways to that our books by mail program may evolve.
We are a state funded agency that supports our member libraries in a ten
county region with services for libraries.  We currently operate the books
by mail program from a unique central collection.  One possible scenario we
are considering would be the operation of the program without a central
collection using materials from our member libraries in our system
headquarters or other rented location.  

 

We are seeking information from others who operate a service without a
central collection with access to materials via a shared collection.  Any
information on how you operate your books by mail program would be greatly
appreciated.
