Last week, Jeanne Zavada, the director of a new (very popular) natural
history museum spoke of the various programs & services they have...

One is children's birthday parties....humm.

My grandson's 2nd birthday party was at a children's museum in
Charletson, SC.

Honestly, I have never thought of having one at a library...HOW IN THE
BOX AM I???!!!

If the folks at McDonald's can host a fun birthday party, I have
confidence the library could do so!!!

I'd call around to local establishments (McDonald's, skating rinks,
gymnastic schools, -thinking back where my children attended parties) to
get ideas for what they offer & associated charges.

Subject: [I] [Publib] Birthday parties @ the library (for a fee)

Has anyone had any luck with these? I've had requests from patrons to
allow them to have a party @ the library. I want to approach my board
and staff about the possibility but need some information such as: what
do you charge for use of the room; do you supply the refreshments; do
you need an insurance waiver; does your staff supply the
storytime/craft; do you provide a goody bag; who is responsible for
clean-up; do you have upper and lower age limits for the birthday
girl/boy?

Please respond directly to lrudolph at albright.org. Thank you.
