[Publib] NEW stickers on spines

We have had trouble with the mess of stickers on spines and peeling them off until I worked with an excellent clerk who found the best tape. I paste in her e-mail to me from 2001, which I kept handy:

The tape we use for attaching our new stickers is Scotch Transparent Tape 600 (3/4 in x 2592 in). It comes in a red box. We apply this directly to the top of the book spine and place the new sticker over it. We have not had any problems with the new sticker falling off, plus the tape removes cleanly, even after a year, with minimal effort.

These resulted in clean NEW labels that looked new until we pulled them off with a fingernail. We use NEW labels that are white with red writing, but you could put this tape under and over any label you knew you had to remove and it peels cleanly.
