First of all, I would like to thank the individual who pointed me in the the direction of the Marlboro Library. I e-mailed them, and received the following response from Sue Scott on their Wii Bowling Program. Their seems to be a lot of interest in this program. Pretty soon there will be Wii Bowling Leagues in libraries all across America! My first step will be to hold a Wii Open House for adults, and then see how much interest there is in starting an official league. My thanks to everyone who responded to my initial e-mail, and especially to Sue Scott for taking the time to share her experiences.

Subject: Senior wii bowlers

Hi Mary, our senior wii bowling league has exceeded all expectation! I give
one on one computer classes and one day I had an appointment with a senior
that lives in a housing complex near the library. He was such a hoot, and I
had heard about Wii bowling in senior settings so I asked if I could demo it
for him and a few friends so thats what happened. It started small with 4
folks and then I hit the jackpot with a lovely lady named Joan who just
started managing the league on her end. She recruited more seniors and now
we have 3 teams of 4. We found that it takes a team 1.5 hours to bowl 3
games. They even have team names and T-shirts - Grasshoppers, Jitterbugs and
Apple Knockers. One gentleman is 93!
So they bowl from 9-1:30 on Friday mornings and I made a scoring chart (I
can send you a pic if you like). I also have a video up at
www.marlborolibrary.org/wordpress. At the end of a 3 month season I hand out
participation certificates as well as best team, high score, most improved
and high average.

I created Miis (with their help) for each bowler so I set up the games for
them (using their Miis). We put out the local papers and Reader's Digest as
well as coffee. At first they were intimidated by the controller but they
just persevered and kept with it because it was so fun. They often help each
other. They can be noisy so I hope you have a community room.

If you have any other questions, let me know....
