The Old Bridge Public Library has been working with our seniors for the
past several months on learning the basics of the Wii. You can read a
bit about our experiences at the following:

One of the exciting outcomes of these training and play sessions have been the
idea of developing a Wii Bowling League at the Library.

We are currently in the process of furnishing and equipping our
"Center for Creative Learning & Technology," as part of our "Senior
Spaces" project. (www.seniorspaces.blogspot.com and www.infolink.org/seniorspaces)
The Wii has now become an important component of this new technology center.

Each Thursday morning beginning in March our center will be open for seniors
to have hands-on practice with a variety of technology--everything from MP3 players to
digital cameras to the Wii. A librarian will be stationed there to help people when they
get "stuck" and to "train" them, especially using the Wii. Then each Friday
(before our regularly scheduled Senior Friday program), we will
be setting up the Wii in our meeting room. We already have about a 1/2 dozen
seniors that plan on coming to our programs early--ready to bowl!

We will be using the month of March as training time with free-form bowling and
our current plans are to kick-off the bowling league during National Library Week in April.

Funding for "senior spaces" and the Center for Creative Learning & Technology has been made
possible by a contract from INFOLINK and and grant from the NJ State Library.

Stay tuned for more, or e-mail me at: seniorspaces at oldbridgelibrary.org or

Thanks,
