[Publib] RE: E resources selection policy

The Downers Grove Public Library Collection Development Policy includes a statement in the section on Reference Materials that says "Electronic resources are selected according to the same criteria used to evaluate print materials." In some ways this seems redundant, but our procedure has been to reference newer formats specifically for a while, then delete the format specific statements in later revisions of the Collection Development policy.

And by the way, we also have statements on the selection of links to Internet sites and selection of software installed on library computers and the selection of software that is circulated. Helps give the staff a tool to refer to when saying "no" or "yes" to patron suggestions.

Happy Holidays!

Do any of your collection development policies include a statement about
E resources (subscription databases) available through your website?
I'm just wondering if there should be some policy parameters included,
or am I over-thinking this.

Thanks to the collective brain!
