We had considered installing the software, but then we looked at the
licesing information at google:
http://earth.google.com/intl/en-US/license.html
I read it as that we couldn't use the free app here..
Correct me if I was wrong, please....

We want to install Google Earth on our patron Internet stations since
some of our patrons are asking for it. We have little experience with
it and have a question for those who might have more experience.
One thing that concerns us is that it appears to save everything you
enter (per computer). So, patron A sits down at Station #1 and enters
the location of his home, his parent's home, etc. adds some text and
closes the program. Patron B sits down and opens it and all of patron
A's information is there. Does anyone know if there is a quick way to
clear all of the entered information from the program?

You may wish to consider the effect this will have on your network. I
was going to put it on our public PCs, but the systems people at our
consortium asked us not to because it's so bandwidth-intensive.
I don't know if it sucks up any more of the connection than a bunch of
people watching videos, but it's a thought. Our patrons seem happy
enough with Google Maps.

We use a product called Public Web Browser that looks and acts a lot like
IE, but is designed for use in public. It allows you to have a lot of
control of user behavior at the computers.
There is a setting in the PWB that erases the cache each time the browser is
closed.
