This is similar to our policy also. We include a statement that any
Reference Librarian can administer the exam despite the schools wanting
specific persons. We rotate evenings and weekends so that makes it more
convenient for students. Whenever possible we email the schools contact
a copy of our policy because they have proctor agreements that we cannot
always meet in regard to the exact person applying to be the proctor.
Usually it isn't a problem with the school.
Students do have to have an computer guest card or a library card to
access computers if the tests are online.

Good morning,
Yes, we have experienced an increase and have discussed a policy;
however, we are going along with past procedure.
We require that they set up an appointment. They have to review our
Internet Use policy as this covers the fact that we are not responsible
for computer failures, communication issues, etc. We require they pay
postage if there is a booklet to be returned and we keep careful
records of when the packet is mailed back and/or faxed back although
more everything is done online. The service is free of charge, but many
people give a donation to the Friends of the Library.
I will be interested in the discussion regarding this issue.

Has anyone experienced an increase in the number of patrons/students
needing the library to proctor exams? Does your library have a policy
and procedures written for proctoring exams? Does your library charge
for the service? Any and all input is appreciated.
