There are 2 that we're looking for.

The first is a SF book probably from the early 70's and might be a YA title. Passengers on an airliner suddenly find the plane on another planet and all but a dozen or so of the passengers missing. The book deals with them trying to find out where they are and how/why they got there.

The second is an SF short story that takes place on a farm in the early 1900's. Two children turn up claiming to be part of the family. Turns out they were sent to their g-g-grandparent's farm from the future to escape some disaster. Person thought it was by Clifford Simak but can't find it in any of his books.
