I had a patron ask me, "What are the symptoms of Mad Cow Disease? Cos I
think I might have it."
After a few questions, I found out she had been denied as a blood donor at
our blood drive downstairs because she'd lived in Germany 20 years ago. I
told her I couldn't diagnose her, but we looked up the symptoms of mad cow
disease and she decided since they manifest much sooner than 20 years
post-exposure, she was ok.
