Was this before or after 1906? If it was before 1906 (when naturalization
became a federal process)the records could be in the local courthouse
nearest where they were living when they got naturalized. If the
grandparents lived in one place most of their adult lives, that makes
matters simpler, but still not easy.

She might also check poll tax listings for the towns where they lived.
