How can a library not have an audio-visual collection in this day and age?
My library has iPods and Blu-Ray discs. You get new patrons that use the library. The library consortium also has MP3 files that can be downloaded onto patrons' computers. We also just got Playaways too.

Subject: SPAM-LOW: [Publib] How to add an audio-visual collection

For the past few months our library has been trying to implement an
audio-visual collection. Unfortunately, we have been met with resistance
because it is believed that an audio-visual collection will lower the
circulation statistics of our print materials. Does anyone have any
statistics or know of any articles that reflect on how an audio-visual
collection impacts the circulation statistics of print materials? We are
trying to prove that adding an audio-visual collection will boost
circulation statistics overall while not lowering print circulation.
