SPAM-LOW: [Publib] Exam Proctoring

We have begun proctoring exams within the last 6 months. It is not something
we advertise, however if someone asks, we do what we can to oblige. Being a
small town library, there is often not another option for these individuals.

We have not set a fee (yet), and can accommodate people at various times,
due to the setup of our library (the seating area is directly across from
the circ desk). For the most part, the individuals asking for this service
have been very appreciative and we have not had any no-shows. If a person
needs extended computer time for a test, we issue them a laptop, which gives
us some freedom with time constraints. We also have deep freeze installed,
so our computers are more "open" than they might otherwise have to be.

Thank you all for sharing your policies, as this is a new area for us as
well. I believe that with the continued growth of online schools, we will
most likely see a continued increase in these requests.

Andrea Berstler

Director - Village Library of Morgantown

Subject: SPAM-LOW: [Publib] Exam Proctoring

I admit I have not searched the archives yet; we have been inundated this
summer with requests to proctor exams. I am looking for what other
libraries do, what has worked and what has not worked before writing a
policy. If you are willing to share what your library does I will compile
and repost for everyone. Thanks.
