Librarian I - Youth Services Consultant
The Clinton Essex Franklin Library System  (CEFLS) based in Plattsburgh, NY,  is seeking a full-time Librarian I. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with library directors and staff to improve public library services to children and teens, help increase literacy, and grow into a leadership role in the field of youth services.  The three county library system, consisting of 30 libraries, 3 reading centers and a bookmobile, serves a population of approx. 160, 000 in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains and Lake Champlain region.   This is a classified position, subject to Civil Service Continuous Recruitment examination.  Residency has been waived for this examination, although preference will be given to residents of Clinton, Essex or Franklin counties. Applicant must be available to travel to CEFLS member libraries or other locations as necessary.  Minimum qualifications: Possession of an ALA accredited MLS degree and expressed interest  in children's and youth services. Must have or obtain  the New York State Public Librarian's Professional Certificate before employment begins.
