POSITION DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES
Position responsibilities include creating resources to support Library
instruction and to help other faculty in creating resources as well.
Guides Library in developing or selecting software to assist this
process. Develops and maintains Library’s administrative databases.
Helps coordinate the Library’s technical planning. Acts as a liaison
to College’s IT Division and to University Office of Library Services
regarding Aleph System. Supervises technical support staff. Will also
participate in Library’s Reference services and teach in Library’s
instruction program.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
ALA accredited MLS degree required for appointment as an Instructor.
ALA accredited MLS degree plus second master’s degree or doctorate
required for an appointment as an Assistant Professor. A minimum of two
years working experience in instructional technology or systems work is
required. Web design training and/or experience a plus. Demonstrated
leadership, service orientation, problem solving, written and oral
communication skills and ability to work with people in a collegial,
collaborative environment also required.
