If you use the open source sound editing software Audacity, it will only 
cost you the price of the computers. If you're really brave, you can 
have a "whole studio" on each computer by using Ubuntu Studio. Both 
programs are open source and cost no money. Audacity is available on 
multiple platforms and Ubuntu Studio is Linux.
