Collection Development Librarian -The Central Arkansas Library System
(CALS) in Little Rock, Arkansas, seeks a motivated, enthusiastic
librarian to assist in all aspects of collection development.  CALS is a
growing urban library system with twelve locations and over 200,000
cardholders.  The Collection Development Librarian reports to the Head
of Collection Development and responsibilities include centralized
system-wide selection of library materials, collection maintenance and
weeding.  

 

The successful candidate will have a deep commitment to providing
excellent service, a broad understanding of library principles, superior
organizational skills and attention to detail, excellent oral and
written communication skills, and exceptional interpersonal skills. 

 

Knowledge of standard adult books & authors as well as popular reading
interests are essential.

 

Required:  MLS degree from an ALA-accredited school.

Preferred:  3 years progressively responsible professional experience in
adult public service or collection development in public libraries.

 

Salary negotiable starting from $35,360 based on experience, plus
excellent benefits.
