Unasked Questions"

Good Evening,
I have a library patron corresponding with a gentleman in Japan who recently lost his mother. They have been discussing "receiving answers to unasked questions in unusual circumstances" and the gentleman in Japan has asked for a book he could read on that subject.
When I sought to clarify, I found that the book desired could be fiction or non-fiction, and need not specifically deal with grief or loss. Their dialogue has been revolving around receiving answers to unasked questions, for instance, receiving a moment of insight or epiphany from song lyrics...a sermon...and so on.
The library patron suspected Max Lucado might have written something on this subject. Via email, I sent pdfs of six chapters from Max Lucado I found, one being on Job/questioning, but they weren't exactly on this topic...I also sent the famous quote by Rainer Maria Rilke about living the questions.
I would very much appreciate any suggestions or advice as to reader's advisory for this young man. (Can you hear the implicit desperation in this email? :-) Feel free to forward this query to other reader's advisory listservs or stumpers lists...I'm likely to relapse into dark chocolate consumption without extra help on this one.
Most grateful for any help,
Maggie Bollar
