[Publib] cataloguueing music cds

To be honest, I have no idea, as I don't do any cataloguing. It can be confusing, even for staff. Most of the time I think they try to put things in the most obvious place. Beethoven would end up in classical, and probably also have titles in orchestra and symphony.

Hi Megan,

How do you determine what goes in which of these sections? For instance, if I wanted to go straight to the shelves and see if Beethoven's 9th was in, where would I go? Of course, I'd hope people would check the catalog, but I think most, including myself, would attempt browsing first, and many never use the catalog or ask for help. I wonder if such divisions hinder access at some point.
