We do it very similar to Megan's library; however our genres are much more
generic. Beethoven's 9th would be in Classical. We have Rock, R&B, Holiday,
World Music, Country, Jazz, Classical, etc. There are always a few
compilations that straddle the line, but all and all it works.

Hi Megan,

How do you determine what goes in which of these sections? For instance, if
I wanted to go straight to the shelves and see if Beethoven's 9th was in,
where would I go? Of course, I'd hope people would check the catalog, but I
think most, including myself, would attempt browsing first, and many never
use the catalog or ask for help. I wonder if such divisions hinder access
at some point.
