[Publib] Weeding Plan

We weed on a rotating basis. First, nonfiction; then fiction; then large
print; then video; then audio; etc. It doesn't really matter, just pick
the collections most in need and continue from there. We weed large
print again before we do nonfiction, as it has outgrown its area long
since and gets overstuffed before it would be time to weed again.

As for time, we try to weed in the hour before opening each morning
during weeding periods. Keeps us out of the way of the patrons and vice
versa. As to how long, as long as it takes.

Subject: [Publib] Weeding Plan

Hello all -

I am looking for some sample weeding plans (not a weeding policy - we
have one of those). I'm looking for examples of how folks go about the
weeding of their collections - what order do you weed in, how much time
to do you take to weed each section, etc. Does anybody out there have
something like this they are willing to share?

Thanking you in advance -
