We offer four basic classes on Monday nights: Computer Basics, Internet
Basics, Email Basics, Word Basics. We also have something of a different
approach on Monday and Tuesday mornings called "Senior Computer Classes"
Think of a quilting circle with computers and you get the picture. :-)
The group has a large social aspect to it where folks come and go and
continue to come for long periods of time. The specific topic under
discussion, being demonstrated, or being taught varies from week to week
depending on the interest of the attendees and what the instructor (a
volunteer...not library staff) may have spotted that tweaked his interest.

The classes on Monday nights taught by myself are a more structured
traditional approach to teaching computer classes. I'm also currently
developing a series of classes that will be offered on Saturdays, each
class twice a year where I'll cover a single topic like "Protecting
yourself on the Internet" (viruses, spam, spyware etc), "Wanna Google
Gooder? Moving beyond the simple search box" (*yes, GROAN... but it gets
a laugh..) "The Hidden Web: Learn to search like a pro" (about the
online databases to which we subscribe) and "Making MySpace YourSpace and
YouTube YourTube"

Hope this info helps.
