The 'window changing size' and 'start menu appearing randomly' issues don't
sound like general Vista issues, but more hardware-specific.
What you describe sounds like possibly bad mouse interactions. You can check
with the mftr. for updated drivers.
Also, if you can, disable the touchpad on your laptop, and use a USB mouse
instead. (Or, just use the USB mouse, and don't worry about disabling the
touchpad.) That might help narrow down the problem.
Also, if your laptop at the lower end of the "Vista capable" performance
range (ie, can barely run Vista), you could possibly just be seeing very
delayed response times to mouse/touchpad movements (just a thought).
So, if you've got the fancier 'Aero' interface enabled (3D & see-thru
effects, etc), try disabling that, to help speed things up.
