Join us today in OPAL at noon for an online discussion with author
Richard Jennings.
Jennings' debut novel, Orwell's Luck, launched to widespread critical
acclaim in 2000. This success was followed by The Great Whale of Kansas,
My Life of Crime, Mystery in Mt. Mole, Scribble, Stink City and Ferret
Island in 2007. Mr. Jennings has been awarded fellowships from the
Kansas Arts Commission, and is the first novelist for young people to
win the William Rockhill Nelson award for fiction.

How can you attend the online discussion?
Simply download the small, safe program and enter your name to enter the
room--no password is required. You can listen to the author discuss his
books, chat with the author through text-chat, or even ask questions
live if you have a microphone attached to your computer.
Join us online for lively discussions with authors and poets throughout
September and October. As part of an online series, the discussions will
feature authors who will be participating in the in-person Rare
Conversations Foundation event to be held on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007 in
Overland Park, Kan. Rare Conversations gives attendees the unique
opportunity to engage in free-flowing conversation with a dozen
outstanding authors while supporting the Library Foundation. For more
