[Publib] Teen volunteers

Our library continues to receive a high volume of teens and older
individuals requesting to volunteer for numerous reasons. I would appreciate
some feedback on ways other libraries have accommodated these requests
without turning people away. Our "Friends" group has regular  volunteers to
maintain their many functions.The library has a steady group of volunteers
that come in weekly to shelve, pull requested items and send to other
libraries and tasks of that nature, and we use local teens for many of the
children & teen programs; unfortunately we do not have as many tasks as we
have people willing or needing to volunteer. Do other libraries find
themselves in this position?  What do you do so your not turning away
someone that is willing/needing to perform community service?
