Hi,

 

I would like to gather some information for my Board on how libraries handle
programs when they invite authors to speak about their work:

            1 - do you allow the author to sell copies of their books?

            2 - do you provide the books that the author will sell?

            3 - do you have a written policy that outlines your
arrangements? (please send to me offlist if you can)

            4 - if you allow the selling of the books, is it done through
your FRIENDS group?

            5 - does any of the profits go to benefit the library?

            6 - does the author offer to do the programs free of charge if
they can sell their books?

Any other information regarding this issue would be greatly appreciated.
