Greetings,
I would worry about a job prospect that did not require ALA
<http://www.ala.org/ala/accreditation/accredstandards/standards.htm>
Accreditation
<http://www.ala.org/ala/accreditation/accredstandards/standards.htm> and an
institution that would not be able to
reach that goal. I do not think the bar is set too high for
a graduate program that leads to a professional degree.

Subject: [Publib] How Important is ALA Accreditation?
I am an MLS student in a program that is not (yet) officially accredited by
the ALA. In terms of job prospects, is that accreditation as important as
job postings make it sound?
Thanks,
Erin Tolman
MLS Student
