 REALITY 2.0: Attracting and Engaging the Millennial Library User

 Stephen Abram will introduce us to the library users of today and tomorrow. We will hear the research and attributes of the Millennials—the so-called digital natives, the real people living the Web 2.0 experience today—those teens, twenty- and even thirty-somethings who use Web 2.0 tools to terra-form the living, breathing worlds they inhabit. Do we need to adapt our libraries to this, the largest generation in history? Are they really different? And what are the scholarly implications?

 Stephen Abram, MLS, is President-elect of the Special Libraries Association and past-President of the Canadian Library Association. He is Vice President Innovation for SirsiDynix and Chief Strategist for the SirsiDynix Institute. Stephen was listed by Library Journal as one of the top 50 people influencing the future of libraries.
