At the Madison Heights Public Library, the music CD collection is
arranged by a letter for each type of music, followed by a number
assigned in sequence as an item is added to the collection. As an
example, Itzhak Perlman's Live in the Fiddler's House has CD C #55 as
its call number, which allows the patron to easily locate it. The jewel
cases are housed on the floor, which are exchanged for plastic cases at
the circulation desk containing the CD itself to avoid extra handling.
