What an interesting situation! At some point in time, it seems this

would lead to the need to store artwork and perhaps rotate it in

exhibition.

I used to have rotating art exhibits put on by local art societies.

It was very nice since we were able to promote local artists and

sometimes people would be interested in purchasing their works.

The art changed monthly and there was no cost to us. But we

benefited by being able to enjoy a changing visual feast.

Subject: [Publib] Ongoing art purchases

Hello All,

We recently moved into a brand new building. 10% of the construction cost
was used for art purchases. Now the Library Board is considering a request
to have an ongoing line item in the yearly budget for art purchases. Does
any public library out there do that and, if so, what percentage of the
yearly budget is for art purchases?

Thank you for the assistance.
