[Publib] as a profession......loyalty?

After 32 years as a librarian (after cook in a Chinese restaurant, busboy,
short order cook, hat salesman) I see many flaws in our profession but also
many positives. I'm sorry all you old guys waiting for retirement are so
disgruntled and disillusioned.

I'm sure we younger librarians will have some of our idealism bruised at the
beginning of our careers and discover (surprise!) that other librarians
aren't as perfect as ourselves nor do they see as clearly THE right way. But
some of us will also expand our horizons enough to realize that there are
always more solutions needing problems and others may be equally adamant
(and maybe even right-er) in their views of which solutions apply to which
problems.

[Robert: While I applaud your positive outlook, sorry, but your philosophy
is all wrong. It's soy sauce, not hot sauce that fixes all ills.]
