[Publib] as a profession......loyalty?

Of the four directors I've worked for, two of them proactively included themselves in the regular schedule (one shift per week or two shifts per month) and were always willing to fill-in when needed. One of them was always willing to fill in when needed. But one of them never worked any of the public service desks even when asked or if the only alternative was to close down the desk.
When I became a Director not only was I asked to work the public service desks periodically by my Board of Trustees (they feel it is necessary for me to be able to do my job, which it is) but I try to fill in as much as possible, am in the regular Saturday rotation and work one evening per month.
