[Publib] RE: parent abusing child

I'm a new (and young) public librarian so my thanks for the issue being
discussed here. I agree with everyone who urged calling the police and this
has nothing to do with privacy. I would have done the same. (At our library,
we have our own police and in turn they can call for outside help) 
I once read in an 'Ask Amy' advice column about victims of child abuse who
were grateful for strangers intervening. Even if the child doesn't come to
thank you personally, he/she may grateful that someone like you stepped in.
