This is always a tough call because, but for utterly outrageous, injury
threatenting abuse, do you want to be the agency that has child removed
from his/her family/home?  Couple of things:

1) you have to discuss your institutional position on this with your trustees
2) Talk to MassKids http://www.masskids.org/ about implications of the
call to police, for all concerned. Ditto your local police dept.
3) do you call police in case(s) of "abandoned" children, left after
hours? If so, why ever not in flagrant abuse situations?
