[Publib] Book Drop Question

I love the collective intelligence of this group!

 

Here in the beautiful but wet Pacific Northwest, we have discovered that our
pull-down outside book drop collects water.  We are considering various
options to deal with that problem such as adding a canopy over the area
and/or a different type of drop opening.  

 

My specific question is about the Extended Kwik Drop building-mounted chute.
It is hooded and the hood extends 10 in. from the wall.  Has anyone who has
this particular kind of opening to their outside book drop had any problems
with it?  One person on our staff remembers hearing that some libraries
reported things getting jammed in the chute.
