Somebody asked what I'm working on, but I forgot who, and can't find the
email in my file. How's that for an information professional? At any rate,
what I'm doing is writing and research for a labor-management trust. One part
of that includes providing content* for our weblog, presentations, speech
texts, et cetera.
At any rate, in my work for these folks I've become E-mersed in Green
building issues. One finds that the library of the future (and many of the present
day) will be built Green, if they're to be built at all. Here in Los
Angeles we're ahead of the curve, of course. Actually, they're quite a bit ahead
in places like Chicago, too, so we can't claim exclusivity.
Here's a weblog I'm putting down by way of advertising these phenomena to
our members: _http://pipegreen.blogspot.com_ (http://pipegreen.blogspot.com) .
It is a work in progress. My goal is to try to figure out this whole Green
building business over the next few months. If you're interested in
Greening the library world, drop a note and we'll see what we have in common.
*As Frederick Turner would have it, "The brain is hungry not for method but
for content, especially content which contains generalizations that are
powerful, precise, and explicit"

still Green around the gills
