[Publib] RE: [Public] amnesty for fines

Our director, Matt Williams, just asked us to set up Food for Fines, where 
people donate nonperishable foods that will be distributed to our local 
food bank, up to $25 in fines per account.  Each account must have a 
donation for fines to be waived.  This does not include fees for damaged 
or lost items, nor for accounts that have been turned over to collections. 
 It will run between Thanksgiving and Christmas.  We have done something 
similar in the past and it was a very positive community experience.  We 
also received back some lost materials from folks hopeful we might make an 
exception for them...
