One tip that I picked up from postings earlier in the year was to open
registration for the classes no more than 2 weeks ahead of time.  Doing
this has saved the circulation staff from having to say over and over
"the class is full as is the alternate list".  (Original purpose)  The
side benefit is the student is less likely to forget that they have
signed up or have a schedule conflict in that period of time.  We still
call the day before and fill in from the alternate list.  

I am monitoring the number signing up and would take a low number of
students registered as an indication that the population is saturated
for now.  My plan would then be to offer the course with less frequency
and I will develop and offer a different topic e.g. using the Internet
to Plan Travel or Find a Job.
