We allow them to bring in skateboards and scooters and we keep them behind the desk until they leave.

Subject: [Publib] Skateboards and scooters
I'm assuming most libraries don't allow people to bring in skateboards or scooters, but have any of you made any special arrangements for people (i.e., kids) who use these modes of transportation?
Right now, I tell people they can't bring them in, since that is our policy, but does anyone else feel there ought to be a way to accommodate skateboard and scooter users? A lot of kids live too far from the library to walk and can't use or don't have access to cars. I make a distinction between skateboard and scooters and athletic equipment, which kids don't have to use to get around.
I realize a lot of folks might want to be more accommodating, but can't because of limited resources.
Thank you
JL
