Thanks to everyone for your responses to my question of DVD security practices. I appreciate all your efforts. For those of you who were interested in a compiled list:
One library uses a security strip on the box under the DVD policy, puts initials on the disc, and uses a Checkpoint security box.
Two libraries use the 3M Red Tag system (one just switched to it from using tattle-tape and storing DVDs behind the desk)
Four libraries display blank cases and store discs behind the desk for staff to retrieve. (One displays magnetic cases that lock)
One library uses the Amaray II benefit DVD case on features and other select titles, and 3M security on the DVD insert spine.
One library uses CD Library.
One library uses 3M tattle tape labels and One-Time security cases that are unlocked at checkout.
One library uses Kwik cases from Gressco and a "key" to unlock the case.
If you'd like to see the responses as written with more detail in the actual e-mails, I have those compiled in a Word document that I could send as an attachment if you e-mail me.
Thanks again,
Sarah Cody
