"limit them to one AV item at a time,"
Isn't the average price of a book at least the same as an AV item? Yes,
it's a high demand area. But these items don't last as long as most
print items. They are self weeding. Harsh but true.
We issue "temporary cards" also for persons temporarily residing in a
homeless/domestic abuse shelter, etc.
The person is required to bring in proof from the shelter - a statement
on their letterhead, signed by the director, and a photo id (could be
from another state, or not have an address, just has their name &
photo.) The card is good for 30 days, renewable for another 30 days if
they are still in the shelter, with the same requirements (letter) as
the first time. Patrons are limited to 5 items, no specifications.
Do we lose materials? Yes.
Will we continue to lose materials? Yes.
Will we continue to offer temporary cards with these stipulations? Yes,
until something better comes along.
