BLACK & WHITE AND READ ALL OVER

The Carnegie-Stout Public Library is partnering with the Northeast Iowa School of Music to present an exciting family event called, "Black & White and Read All Over," Saturday, June 2, in the Eleanor Roosevelt Middle School, 2000 Radford Rd, Dubuque, IA auditorium. An orchestra of local professional musicians, under the baton of Maestro Brian Hughes, will present a concert of music based on literature. Selections will include a wide variety of music, from Shakespeare to children's literature. Soprano Sandra Andersen is guest soloist.

Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be New York Times best-selling author William Bernhardt, who will also perform on the piano. Bernhardt, who has been called "master of the courtroom drama" and "the American equivalent of P.G. Wodehouse and John Mortimer," has won numerous awards both as an author and a lawyer.

Mr. Bernhardt will present a pre-concert lecture at 6:00 pm; doors open at 5:30. The concert will begin at 7:00, and Mr. Bernhardt will be available for book-signing afterwards. A book table will be sponsored by River Lights 2nd Edition. General admission tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children/seniors and are available from NISOM and the Carnegie-Stout Public Library. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library and the Diamond Jo Casino. Proceeds will go to the Carnegie-Stout renovation project and the Northeast Iowa School of Music. For more information, call (563) 690-0151 or (563) 589-4225 option 4.
