[Publib] short story query

  "When I was in high school, I read a short story that I believe the title was "The Trouble". It was about a small poor child, looking out his window and seeing the trouble happening in his neighborhood. He is seeing conflicts between black and white people. I believe there is something about him asking his mother for food, and all she has is tea to fill his stomach. It was in a book with other short stories. Another story in the book dealt with a young man (I believe there was reference to him being part or full Mexican) who came home and told his mother that he had accisently killed someone that attacked him, and now a mob of people were out to get him and he had to go on the run. There were other stories in the book but I cannot remember them right now, but I am mainly looking for the story "The Trouble". Have you ever read or heard of that story or the book it was in? "
