[Publib] why I'd rather be a patron than a client (or even a matron)

When I hear the word "Patron" - I think of patronizing, Patron and if
you have a Patron, why not a Matron?
Er, perhaps because the patron was handing goodies to his dependent clients
while his wife, the matron, was off overseeing the household slaves. This is
why I find the idea of calling library users clients more patronizing than
calling them patrons.
