Since our actual AV materials are kept behind our desk, we have no need to interfile the media.  Each medium is clearly marked - VHS, DVD, CD, and cassette - with recorded literature in an area of its own.  Although I catalog everything we acquire, most of the collection is represented in browsing bins, racks, or shelves.
