Hi -
My name is Christine Angeli. I am a graduate student at Southern
Connecticut State University and currently working towards a Master's degree
in Library and Information Science. As part of the degree requirements I
am conducting research on the role public librarians play in developing the
information literacy skills of our users.
I am requesting your help in obtaining information on how, and to what
extent, these skills are being imparted (formal instruction, web tutorial,
collection guides, etc.) and in surveying the attitudes of the librarians
towards providing these skills.
I have posted a questionnaire at
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=krzeLJrlax_2frQnvb1K9Nag_3d_3d The
questions seek information, opinions, experiences and insights from current
and retired public librarians. Your responses, along with the responses of
other participants, as well as a general review of the available literature,
will be used in the compilation of the report. The questionnaire should take
approximately 10 minutes to complete.
While your experiences, insights and opinions may be referenced in the
study, you will not be named. Results of the study will be shared with a
graduate research class and possibly used as a Special Project to fulfill
graduation requirements.
Please email me at christine.angeli at gmail.com with any questions or
concerns.
Thank you so much for taking the time to answer these questions. This
survey has been posted to various discussion lists, I apologize for any
duplication or inconvenience.
Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!
Regards,
Christine Angeli
