FYI:

The ALA E-rate Task Force will sponsor an E-rate Open Forum at the annual
conf. as follows:

DATE: Saturday June 23, 2:00 - 4:00pm
PLACE: Renaissance Hotel, Ballroom West A/B

Topics to be covered include:

-- Current state of the E-rate program and recent ALA activities

-- A review of why some E-rate applications are denied or have their
funding reduced. This will be presented by Linda Schatz, President, EdTech
Strategies and John Noran, SLD Senior Manager for Customer Service. In
addition, John will review changes you can make after your application is
submitted to help reduce chances of it being denied.

-- Technology plan issues will also be reviewed by John Noran. This will
include E-rate tech plan requirements, key elements in a plan, how often it
should be updated, etc.

There will be plenty of time for questions and interaction with the
audience. In fact, if you have any specific questions related to technology
plans, please forward them to me by Tuesday, June 19, and we will address
them at the program.
