Library Supervisor III

Annual Salary Range ($63,274 - $84,802) DOQ

 

The Sacramento Public Library is seeking dynamic, forward-thinking and
creative leaders for three (3) Library Supervisor III positions in the
system.   These leaders must have a clear vision for the future of
public library service and be able to work with the management team and
staff in identifying and implementing the critical role the public
library should play in a diverse and rapidly growing region.
Specifically, these positions plan, organize and direct the operation of
a medium to large branch library.

 

The Sacramento Public Library is the fifth largest public library system
in California, providing services to the City and County of Sacramento,
Citrus Heights, Elk Grove, Galt, Isleton and Rancho Cordova  through 27
libraries, over 340 staff members and an annual overall budget of $36
million.  Over 500,000 residents have library cards and over 5,800,000
items are circulated annually.  The library has experienced significant
population growth in the last decade and has remodeled and expanded
several branches, has built new facilities and has developed a 20-year
Facility Master Plan.

 

Sacramento is an ethnically diverse and fast growing metropolitan area
with a regional service area population of over 1,200,000.  Sacramento
is rapidly becoming an up-an-coming hub for creative workers and
provides a diverse array of cultural and recreational opportunities.  In
addition to local amenities, Sacramento is within 100 miles of San
Francisco and the Lake Tahoe area.

 

The preferred candidates will have a demonstrated record of achievement
in providing outstanding public service to a vital and growing
population.  We are looking for leaders who are passionate about their
work and can translate this passion to exemplary customer service.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

ALA Accredited Master's Degree in Library Science plus three (3) years
experience as a professional librarian, including one year  in a
supervisory capacity.
