We alphabetize the fiction by last name, first name and then title. Our
series are shelved at the end of the author's books, in numerical order.
For author's with more than one series, we then shelve alphabetically by
series name and the series is shelved numerically. (Hope that makes
sense). Mary

Subject: [Publib] Fiction Shelving question
This question is for those of you who label your fiction titles with the
author's last name (maybe first initial, but no Cutter numbers)
In a library where you would have about 20 titles by your average
bestselling author and 2-5 titles by lesser known authors -
Within the same author, do you shelve your titles in alphabetical order?
And how do you address series (I'm thinking those with an obvious number
printed on the spine)?
Just doing a rough survey.
Thanks!
